Jābir Ibn-'Abdullāh said, "When the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, decided to perform the pilgrimage (1) he made the announcement and people gathered [in Madīnah]. When he reached al-Baydā' (2) he entered into the state of consecration (3, 4)."
